...wedding? HONEYMOON!

So I'm still not over the excitment of planning the honeymoon! I've purchased some travel books - a fellow blogger I met off of theknot mentioned that you couldn't go to the Mediterranean without this travel bible called "Let's Go - Europe."

And let me tell you - a bible it is! It's a very thick travel guide with city maps, activities, points of interest, bus stations, train stations, restaurants...pretty much anything and everything you would ever need to be informed of when traveling in any town or country in Europe. The best part is that it also gives you a rough estimate on the prices of EVERYTHING for each city/country - which is fantastic when you're trying to figure out how much you will need to even go on a honeymoon and still have cash to go shopping.

I've been catching up on my French and Italian also. I'm a little nervous about sticking ourselves in the middle of a foreign country - mostly because of navigational errors that might land us on a train going to Belgium or Germany...maybe even Russia(!) when we're trying to get ourselves from the airport to our awaiting boat.

I also signed up for an account on our cruise line's website and I just received my info packet today. *Yippee!* I'm so excited I can barely contain myself. I am disappointed, however, that I only get one day in some of these cities - but I'm sure I can make the best of it. :)

The cruise line offers excursions but word on the street says these are "molto caro", so we have to be choosy which cities we want to take excursions.

Ports of Call - Semi-itinerary

Venice, Italy (2 days)

We may not do an excursion while in Venice. I think we'll hire our own gondola :D and take our own tour for the day. Of course, ending it with a quick little shopping trip. We will have to fly in the day before so I'm way excited that we have to stay at a hotel in Venice, I've already picked out the hotel I want to stay at...JUST LOOK HOW CUTE THE ROOMS ARE!!!

Split, Croatia
I'm not sure exaclt what I want to do here maybe take it easy, visit the markets, lay on the beaches?, and explore by ourselves (I do want to see the palace). I did find out that you can go kayaking in the Adriatic Sea, and it sounds pretty fun - we may have to look into it.

Day At Sea
I have a feeling that this will be a sleep way, way in and a "day at the spa" day.

Athens, Greece
Excursions
Sightseeing & Acropolis
Ancient Corinth & Canal Cruise
Athens Walking Tour

I definatly think we may need to take an excursion here. Athens is pretty large and I do not want to get lost! Eric and I both don't like doing the "ultimate touristy" thing but I think it may be for the best, especially if we want to see what you're supposed to see in Athens. I may have to look more into it but for now excursion sign up for Greece! I like the sounds of the walking tour.

Santorini, Greece
Excursions
Volcano Hot Springs
Exclusive Santorini, Pyrgos Village Mesas & Wine
Village of Ola & Santorini Island

Wow Excursion #1 & #2 both sound amazing, it might be hard to pick just one! The volcano hot springs sound really good, we could probably find this on our own though :)

Day At SEA

Naples, Italy
Only Excursion being Considered and is A MUST:
Hike on Mount Vesuvius & Pompeii

I've always, always dreamed of doing this and there's no way I'll miss this for the world

Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy
Excursions
Taste of Rome (sounds yummy)
Rome - The Eternal City, Angels & Demons (hmmm sounds...interesting)
Bike in Tarquinia & Ice Cream (yummy!)
Bracciano Castle & it's Lake

Wow, I really wish we had 2 days in Rome, there's much to do here! Will definately need to return. I think we'll most likely do the touristy thing and visit all the stuff you should see while in Rome. Although, a castle would be fun and I do like icecream....

Florence / Pisa, Italy
Excursions
Tuscan Countryside - San Gimignano & Voltera, (HECK YES!)
Scenic Drive & Wine Tasting
Leaning "Tour" of Pisa (they're so creative it's silly!)

Nice, France
Excursions
Best of French Riviera
Monaco & Monte Carlo
Nice & Eze (haha I get it)

This may be another port of call where we just set out to do our thing and enjoy France. Mmm

Day at Sea

This will definately need to be a day of resting in the stateroom! Four days straight of non-stop touristy action will probably be killing us by now!

Barcelona, Spain

Will be time to start thinking of getting ourselves home! Will most likely spend a night here and fly out in the morning.
