Shoe Watch!

So last weekend while visiting the fam back at home, my mom, little sister, and I went shopping. It was a super fun day, and made even sweeter that mom spoiled me a little :).

Anywho, while at Macy's my mom pointed out these Jessica Simpson shoes. At first I did not like them at all, but I've found myself thinking about them quite a bit. They're growing on me and I'm thinking I need these....soon!

Jessica Simpson - Santino

Here's a view of the detail - the eyelet closures intrigue me :)
Anywho, they're $90 shoes - I believe Macys have them for $80ish
but on my fav website (www.6pm.com) you can find them for $55

First Order of Business in Rome: Attack a Gellateria

So I can't decided whether we're flying out on Thursday or Friday. If we fly out Thursday, we'll hopefully arrive Friday morning giving us an extra day to see all the sights we want to see. I really want to do this but Rome is expensive, so we have some deciding to do!

 *****

Anywho, once I step off the airplane I plan to get myself to the nearest gelato stand I can find :) we may travel inland to the ancient city first to dump our gear but be assured that gelato will be on my mind the whole time!

I've learned some fun and useful things about Gelato and I thought it would even more fun to share!

~ A gelato stand/store is referred to a Gellateria ~

If you want the true Italian authentic Gelato look for words such as:

Produzione Propria (Homemade or our own production)
Nostra Produzione (Our production)
Produzione Artigianale (Production by craftsmen)
Fatta in casa (Made in-house)

~ Also look for gelato in metal containers. Gelato stored in plastic containers is a sign of mass production
~ The color should also look muted and natural. Bright colors mean the gelato was made from a mix. A TIP I read is to check the banana gelato - if it is a bright yellow color find another gelateria!

 ~ You can order gelato in a cone (cono) or a cup (coppa).
~ Toppings are usually extra - and be careful with ordering those toppings, it gets expensive fast!

~ It is also customary to order your gelato and walk around with it. If you wish to sit, you will have to pay more - these prices are usually posted.

~ Gelato is more expensive in Northern Italy

Common Gelato Flavors
Nocciola (noht-CHOH-la) - Hazelnut
Cioccolato (chok-ko-LAH-toh) - Chocolate
Caffe (kahf-FEH) - Coffee
Limone (lee-MOH-neh) - Lemon
Fragola (FRAH-goh-lah) - Strawberry
Melone (meh-LOH-neh) - Melon (Cantaloupe)
Straciatella (stra-chee-ah-TELL-ah) - Chocolate Chip

Yum! Enjoi!

Hello Again!

Here's where I'd give a wonderfully crafted excuse to explain my neglect on my blog, but I'm sure anything that I could come up with, probably already has been used....so we'll skip the preliminary "I'm so lazy, I'm so busy...all the above" statements.

So much is new right now I can't hardly contain myself :).

First things first, I have 1 and a 1/2 more classes and I'm done with my BBA in Accountancy - Woohoo!

Second, four weeks ago we booked our cruise! Finally! I'm so excited, I've already got half of my outfits planned for the first part of that week :). This trip is our one and a half years late honeymoon. I'm sure if you look back at my archives, you'll be able to find when I was first planning our hm but we found it very hard to buy a house, pay for an awesome wedding, pay some unexpected medical bills, go back to school, and pay for a perfect honeymoon.

But anywho...long story short, it's booked, we're actually going, and it's 8 months and 2 weeks away! Whoop Whoop! And wonderful blog readers as you are, you get to go along for the planning ride and ultimately the recap ride :).

...Remember when?

Awhile back I mentioned that I was on the lookout for "a tall glass of green croc heels?"

This is the number one reason why I {heart} 6pm.com

TADA!

J. Renee Candice pumps
in Green Croc
Purchased for $19.95 - Originally $75

These went incredibly fast, when I put them in my shopping bag, there were 3 left in my size and by the time I was checking out - I was buying the last one!

I get them tomorrow and I think that their debut will be scheduled for St. Patty's Day.

*Cheers*

Anyone throwing a baby shower anytime soon?

Like alot of women folk, I too am obsessed with etsy.com {it's amazing}. Well while doing my morning looking {not shopping I swear!} I came across the cutest, most adorable chocolate lollipops EVER.

See what I mean?
Almost makes me want to throw a shower for someone! Anyone?

Have a good day!

Consider yourself invited!

...to some really great sample sale websites. The sales differ by designer and typically last from 1 day to 3 days or so, but they can get up to 80% off; which is awesome because it takes a super expensive designer piece and brings the price down to regular people prices :).

Examples: $150 Nine West Trench for $49 {sale ends Wed 03.10}, $60 fashion tees for $20-$25, $80 blouses for $25-$30, $200 jeans for $45{!}...etc. Shoes, purses, jewelry...you name it.

"BECAUSE FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS PAY RETAIL"

ENJOY!

To-do before I'm 30.

One of my favorite blogs to read is "30 before 30 List"
It's a fun blog that takes you along for the ride in the adventures of a 28-year-old trying to accomplish the 30 things she wants to accomplish before she turns 30.

Unfortunately, I'm turning 25 this summer {YIKES!} leaving me FIVE years until I'm the big 3-0. This is very scarey for me, I hate the thought of getting older. I think I'll feel better about it if I start working on a list of accomplishments from my own "30 before 30" list. Maybe by accomplishing my own set of realistic goals and dreams before 30, I'll be able to accept turning 30 gracefully :)

So without further adieu, here is my "List"

  • Buy a house
  • Marry my best friend
  • Go on my honeymoon - to Europe/Mediterranean
  • Get serious about investing for retirement
  • Get my MBA in Accounting
  • Walk in the graduation ceremony at AIU's London campus
  • Enroll in Doctorate program for Accounting
  • Pass the CPA Exam
  • Fix up my house
  • Have a baby or be planning for a baby
  • Get employed in the IRS, or have a great job and be ready to jump at the first opening
  • Consume less - Save more! {less unnecessary shopping}
  • Try foods I haven't tried: Russian, French cuisine, German, Australian, Authentic Japanese, Sushi, Authentic Thai,
  • Travel to Australia - maybe {If I make it to Europe on my honeymoon, I'll be happy}
  • Become a great pastry & goodie chef {at home}
  • Get in great shape
  • Take a self-defense class
  • Become a better house keeper
  • Train and participate in a triathlon
  • Gain knowledge in and attend spiritual/learning/prayer gatherings {equivalent of sunday church} for different religions: Christianity {Morman, Quaker, Catholic/Lutheran, non-secular}, Buddism & a Zen Meditation {!}, Islam/Muslim, Hinduism,  & Judaism
  • Take better care of my skin {let's prevent those wrinkles!}
  • Sew something
  • Get a green thumb {it's currently brown}

Wow, this is a pretty long list..I better get to this stuff lickity-split!

Sicko.

What the heck guys, I went all through flu season and the rest of winter without getting sick, and I thought I'd get through this winter a lucky lady but I got a wonderful suprise this morning. Throat on fire. Sinus pressure. Yuck.

I'm not sure if I caught the cold from Eric or a yuppy-yoga lady who matted next to me at ..where else..yoga.

Either way, bring on the tea, juice, water, soup, and salt water gargle...YUM.

I'm Yo-gaurl

Get it?...Yoga? Girl? I'm Yo' girl? :)
ahhh....I crack myself up sometimes!

I finally went and checked out my gym's yoga class this morning and it was definitely worth it. It's a great stress reliever and not to mention a great workout! If you've never tried it, you wouldn't believe how much it works your body. A couple of poses had my legs and/or arms shaking {like shake-n-bake}. I was suprised to find that I do have more core strength than I thought I'd have, so that was a plus.

I think I'll try to make this part of my weekend "me-time" schedule :)

More Shoe Porn

So last weekend I posted about the awesome site www.6pm.com, and wanted to add that they get shipments periodically {about 1 every month or so}. So if you catch them when they've recently had an updated inventory - the pickens' great!

Delay in Honeymoon Plans

I've had many questions wondering why I haven't been relentlessly obsessing over honeymoon plans and I do have some semi-bad news to share.

Life likes to throw some EXPENSIVE curveballs and, as a result, we've decided to delay our honeymoon until the spring of 2011. I'm a little bummed because I was really looking foward to Europe this spring but it's better to wait and go when we have more cash to our name.

I'm also crossing my fingers that spring 2011 won't be a bust either because Eric's shoulder injury from a 2002 motorcross accident has progressively gotten worse and he needs surgery to repair his rotator cuff. His poor shoulder will pop out of socket at the drop of a hat...and I'm getting tired of waking up in the middle of the night to the semi-screams and cursings of Eric after waking up with his arm out of socket and totally numb. Not.Fun.

But by golly{!} somehow I'm going on that honeymoon! The idea of a "sugar daddy on the side" didn't quite sit well with the hubby ;). So therefore I need you guys to hold me accountable to saving my toosh off.

Shoe-pa Freak!

That's right, so I'm excited to share a discount shoe website that I am SO in love with. I recently purchased my first pair of Carlos Sanatanas {*SIGH* Carlos your shoes are SOOO dreamy!}, originally $90 dollars bought for $25{exciting no?}....YEA!

Carlos by Carlos Santa in Wistful Plum :)

I currently have my eye on a pair of Charles David heels that are on sale for $32 that used to be over 200 buck-a-roos!

Ch,ch,Check it out!

Disclaimer : not all shoes are cute on here, you have to do some searching!

**************************************************
I have been extremely good with my credit cards for quite a while, but I recently just had a relapse - a relapse for a good cause though! It's a pre-purchase for my tax return portion, alloted to myself, to spend on things that need &/or want. {Awww the magic of plastic IOU's!}

Anywho...I bought a power suit..yes a power suit.
A black pinstripey suit jacket with matching slacks AND pencil skirt!

{I love silly pictures :) }

I can't wait to be done with school because I am UBER excited about my post graduation career ambitions. AND if I plan on doing interviews soon{ish} after I am done with my last class, I need to be prepared right? LEFT.

Now I need an excuse to wear it, but I unfortunately haven't found any...I'm thinking I'm going to get all "powered" up to go the grocery store this weekend!

Update: I FAIL

Yes, total fail-boat, with my new year's resolution that is.
I kept up looking absolutely fantabulous for about 3 weeks...alright you caught me! Three weeks MINUS a comfy Friday.

It's easier to sit at work for long hours wearing comfier clothes!

Winter Harvest

Today I pulled out the sickle and work gloves to harvest my month-and-a-half-old fuzzy legs. I think that's a new record! {Poor Eric} ... Here's to feeling like a new NEW woman!

I have a feeling this is going to be a good week :)

Congrats to Mr. Speed Racer

Last night we attended the Snake River SCCA year end banquet and Eric was awarded 2nd place in the championship for his car class! That's saying something because his class (Open Class) is a very competitive class to run in. Members of this class run first on a cold track and aren't allowed to ride with anyone until after all three runs in order to see the course. This tests the driver's driving ability and numerous talented drivers run in that class. Eric's car isn't the fastest car out there but his driving talent beats the pants off of v-8 corvettes, evo's, and sti's.

In addition to Eric's 2nd place championship, he was also named the Idaho Motor Sports' Driver of the Year. I'm so happy that he was recognized and awarded for all his hard work this year, and above all I'm proud of him!

Here's to a great year of racing and a blessing for another great year in acheivements.

In-Styler Say What?

In-Styler Review

The Grade: A-ish
Quality of Product: B+
Do I like it? Yes

My Thoughts

I actually really like this interesting little contraption. Today I made really pretty loose ringlets all over my cranium for work. It took so getting used to because you have to physically wrap your hair around the barrel instead of the normal way you use a curling iron. If you're just flipping your hair in or out, I think it's great. Yesterday I flipped all my ends out, in 4 minutes maybe tops. Pretty cool.

Oh, also I've been trying to get the volumizing thing down. It works, but I think that since my hair is long it doesn't hold up as great as in shorter hair. I still have to tease and spritz with a little hairspray afterwards.

The rotating barrel makes more noise than the commercial shows, but that doesn't bug me really. Watch out though, especially if you're just straightening your hair. The barrel is unprotected and if you forget that, oucho. I have 2 burns on my hands for trying to grab the end of the barrel like a regular straightener. It does come with a heat shield but it just looks silly and gets in the way of curling.

I do need to argue with the infomercial because it constantly states that it the In-styler doesn't damage your hair. To anyone who describes a heated hair styling tool as non-damaging, I laugh in their silly faces. While it isn't AS damaging, it still gets super hot, even on the middle setting {I had to turn it all the way down to the lowest setting} thus damaging your hair.

While I do recommend the In-styler, I don't think it is a "MUST" have item. The product itself isn't as high of quality as you would think, especially if it's being put up for sale at $100-120 retail. If you're going to spend this kind of money, go get a CHI :). If you're savvy like yours truly and want one, search around on amazon and ebay for a while, and deals pop up here and there. Trade Secret also has them in stock and they might go on sale here if they can't sell them at the $110 they've priced it at.

Since we're in the Hair-Do Spirit, Johnny Lavoy is AWESOME. I found a super cute summer look. Check it out.

Well Helllooo Nurse!

I have officially completed my first week of dressing devastatingly gorgeous {!}

So I "sort-of" decided to make a New Year's resolution this year which is: to spend more time on myself. I love watching "What Not to Wear" {I secretly wish someone would nominate me so I could have a $5,000 shopping spree in NYNY minus the hair chop} and on one of the episodes, there was a girl who was starting her career and was still dressing in plain ol' things every day. Of course it struck close to home because
A.) We're both 24
B.) We're both in the same sort of life transition {finishing school, looking to get into that dream career}

So I decided that I was going to start dressing more "Profesh" and "Fashionista" but definitely not too trendy because that just annoys me {the second you buy it, the trend is over}. I used to correlate dressing great with uncomfortable but you can find some really comfy cute, sexy, modern, dressy,sassy, spicy, salty, sweet, non-greasy.... *ahem* clothes.

Rule I Absolutely Love : It doesn't have to match, it just has to "go". Matching is boring! I've been playing with this a little and it's so fun to see how much more awesome an outfit turns out.

I think this New Year's Res is creating a monster however, because I am going crazy over shoes. Preferrably a faux snake or mock croc {definitely not the real thing because that's just cruel}. I am currently on the look out for a "tall glass of green croc" or a "navy ornamental patent leather beauty" ....or maybe a flat orange pair that would go supa cute with my camel jacket {all pointy toes of course!}

Update: In-styler Review coming soon! Got it yesterday, tried it a little today.
So far this is what I know of this little contraption: It's fun, but very easy it burn yourself if you're trying to do ringlets.

Catching Up!

Planning the life we've spent nights dreaming of under that stars together.

Part One: Catching Up

Well, it's been a long time guys! {I've actually kind of forgotten about blogging--oops}
Reading my last post I just realized how I have put everything off to go to school. Currently, there has been hardly any work on that website. This was partly because a week after I started to work on it, a NEW Idaho bridal website popped up out of no where. Now if that doesn't take the wind out of your sails...

I'm also sorry to say that I haven't really even done the event planning stuff. I've shot a few emails back and forth with the bride, but I have been strickly devoting my time to school.

I am SUPA proud to say that someone {moi} received an A {!} in Economics this last quarter! Now if that doesn't show how hard I've been working...I don't know what does :) Suma Cum Laude here I come!

*******************************
Part Two: Thoughts

Well the holidays are over! It felt so nice to spend time with my families. I got to go shopping this weekend to spend that christmas moola! I got a couple {supa cute} shirts and got the rest of my flatware place settings and cereal bowls to finish up my dinnerware set. I think I was more excited about the flatware and dinnerware!

*******************************
Part Three: Review Coming Soon!

So I was watching an infomercial a couple weeks ago about a curling/flat iron called the
"In-styler". I was intrigued and so I found one on amazon.com for like half the price they were selling them for on the infomercial site and ebay. I should be getting it this week, and I'll make sure to post a review as soon as I've tried it!

*******************************
Part Four: Miche Bag Review

Guess who got a Miche Bag for Christmas? Moi! It's not very big but I do love it. I've read some reviews that this bag doesn't hold together very well, but we'll find out.

Roxanne Cover - This is my most favorite cover.

Red Ellie - I like the red croc but this cover is probably my least  fav because it feels a little cheap.

Silver Cori - Looove it!

Grey/Black Brittany - The picture here doesn't do the cover justice. The grey part has sort of a crinkled leather look and the faux leather is super soft.

Copper Jen - Love the snake look :)
