Winter Harvest

Today I pulled out the sickle and work gloves to harvest my month-and-a-half-old fuzzy legs. I think that's a new record! {Poor Eric} ... Here's to feeling like a new NEW woman!

I have a feeling this is going to be a good week :)

Congrats to Mr. Speed Racer

Last night we attended the Snake River SCCA year end banquet and Eric was awarded 2nd place in the championship for his car class! That's saying something because his class (Open Class) is a very competitive class to run in. Members of this class run first on a cold track and aren't allowed to ride with anyone until after all three runs in order to see the course. This tests the driver's driving ability and numerous talented drivers run in that class. Eric's car isn't the fastest car out there but his driving talent beats the pants off of v-8 corvettes, evo's, and sti's.

In addition to Eric's 2nd place championship, he was also named the Idaho Motor Sports' Driver of the Year. I'm so happy that he was recognized and awarded for all his hard work this year, and above all I'm proud of him!

Here's to a great year of racing and a blessing for another great year in acheivements.

In-Styler Say What?

In-Styler Review

The Grade: A-ish
Quality of Product: B+
Do I like it? Yes

My Thoughts

I actually really like this interesting little contraption. Today I made really pretty loose ringlets all over my cranium for work. It took so getting used to because you have to physically wrap your hair around the barrel instead of the normal way you use a curling iron. If you're just flipping your hair in or out, I think it's great. Yesterday I flipped all my ends out, in 4 minutes maybe tops. Pretty cool.

Oh, also I've been trying to get the volumizing thing down. It works, but I think that since my hair is long it doesn't hold up as great as in shorter hair. I still have to tease and spritz with a little hairspray afterwards.

The rotating barrel makes more noise than the commercial shows, but that doesn't bug me really. Watch out though, especially if you're just straightening your hair. The barrel is unprotected and if you forget that, oucho. I have 2 burns on my hands for trying to grab the end of the barrel like a regular straightener. It does come with a heat shield but it just looks silly and gets in the way of curling.

I do need to argue with the infomercial because it constantly states that it the In-styler doesn't damage your hair. To anyone who describes a heated hair styling tool as non-damaging, I laugh in their silly faces. While it isn't AS damaging, it still gets super hot, even on the middle setting {I had to turn it all the way down to the lowest setting} thus damaging your hair.

While I do recommend the In-styler, I don't think it is a "MUST" have item. The product itself isn't as high of quality as you would think, especially if it's being put up for sale at $100-120 retail. If you're going to spend this kind of money, go get a CHI :). If you're savvy like yours truly and want one, search around on amazon and ebay for a while, and deals pop up here and there. Trade Secret also has them in stock and they might go on sale here if they can't sell them at the $110 they've priced it at.

Since we're in the Hair-Do Spirit, Johnny Lavoy is AWESOME. I found a super cute summer look. Check it out.

He also has a modern ponytail how-to that I love:

Well Helllooo Nurse!

I have officially completed my first week of dressing devastatingly gorgeous {!}

So I "sort-of" decided to make a New Year's resolution this year which is: to spend more time on myself. I love watching "What Not to Wear" {I secretly wish someone would nominate me so I could have a $5,000 shopping spree in NYNY minus the hair chop} and on one of the episodes, there was a girl who was starting her career and was still dressing in plain ol' things every day. Of course it struck close to home because
A.) We're both 24
B.) We're both in the same sort of life transition {finishing school, looking to get into that dream career}

So I decided that I was going to start dressing more "Profesh" and "Fashionista" but definitely not too trendy because that just annoys me {the second you buy it, the trend is over}. I used to correlate dressing great with uncomfortable but you can find some really comfy cute, sexy, modern, dressy,sassy, spicy, salty, sweet, non-greasy.... *ahem* clothes.

Rule I Absolutely Love : It doesn't have to match, it just has to "go". Matching is boring! I've been playing with this a little and it's so fun to see how much more awesome an outfit turns out.

I think this New Year's Res is creating a monster however, because I am going crazy over shoes. Preferrably a faux snake or mock croc {definitely not the real thing because that's just cruel}. I am currently on the look out for a "tall glass of green croc" or a "navy ornamental patent leather beauty" ....or maybe a flat orange pair that would go supa cute with my camel jacket {all pointy toes of course!}

Update: In-styler Review coming soon! Got it yesterday, tried it a little today.
So far this is what I know of this little contraption: It's fun, but very easy it burn yourself if you're trying to do ringlets.

Catching Up!

Planning the life we've spent nights dreaming of under that stars together.

Part One: Catching Up

Well, it's been a long time guys! {I've actually kind of forgotten about blogging--oops}
Reading my last post I just realized how I have put everything off to go to school. Currently, there has been hardly any work on that website. This was partly because a week after I started to work on it, a NEW Idaho bridal website popped up out of no where. Now if that doesn't take the wind out of your sails...

I'm also sorry to say that I haven't really even done the event planning stuff. I've shot a few emails back and forth with the bride, but I have been strickly devoting my time to school.

I am SUPA proud to say that someone {moi} received an A {!} in Economics this last quarter! Now if that doesn't show how hard I've been working...I don't know what does :) Suma Cum Laude here I come!

Part Two: Thoughts

Well the holidays are over! It felt so nice to spend time with my families. I got to go shopping this weekend to spend that christmas moola! I got a couple {supa cute} shirts and got the rest of my flatware place settings and cereal bowls to finish up my dinnerware set. I think I was more excited about the flatware and dinnerware!

Part Three: Review Coming Soon!

So I was watching an infomercial a couple weeks ago about a curling/flat iron called the
"In-styler". I was intrigued and so I found one on amazon.com for like half the price they were selling them for on the infomercial site and ebay. I should be getting it this week, and I'll make sure to post a review as soon as I've tried it!

Part Four: Miche Bag Review

Guess who got a Miche Bag for Christmas? Moi! It's not very big but I do love it. I've read some reviews that this bag doesn't hold together very well, but we'll find out.

Roxanne Cover - This is my most favorite cover.

Red Ellie - I like the red croc but this cover is probably my least  fav because it feels a little cheap.

Silver Cori - Looove it!

Grey/Black Brittany - The picture here doesn't do the cover justice. The grey part has sort of a crinkled leather look and the faux leather is super soft.

Copper Jen - Love the snake look :)
